Digital Twin Engineer — Early-Stage Founding Partner (Future Job Role)
About Synthea :
Synthea is a future deeptech startup dedicated to building the next generation of digital twins powered by quantum-enhanced simulations. Our mission is to transform industries from health and biotech to aerospace, manufacturing, energy, food, chemical engineering, climate, and defense and to predict, optimize, and innovate.
We are searching for a Digital Twin Engineer with real industrial experience who wants to join at the earliest stage as a founding technical partner. You will join the core team from day one and have the opportunity to shape and visualize your vision together with the founder.

Your Responsibilities
1. Technical Development
You will:
• Design and build digital twin architectures for industrial and scientific systems
• Integrate numerical solvers, physics-based models, sensor data, and ML/AI components
• Develop scalable back-end frameworks, data pipelines, and APIs
• Build simulation dashboards and user interfaces for real industrial applications
• Contribute to hybrid classical–quantum simulation workflows
2. Product and Technology Roadmap
You will:
• Work closely with the founder to define the technology roadmap
• Build prototypes and iterate rapidly
• Transform conceptual ideas into high-performance simulation platforms
• Evaluate advanced simulation tools, modelling SDKs, and new technologies
3. Leadership and Team Building
You will:
• Help establish Synthea’s engineering culture and foundation
• Guide major technical decisions and architecture choices
• Mentor future engineers and researchers as the team grows
4. Research and Innovation
You will:
• Explore new modelling approaches for digital twins
• Propose new algorithms, architectures, and simulation strategies
• Identify high-impact industrial use-cases
• Experiment with classical and quantum-enhanced modelling techniques
Required / Ideal Background
• Master’s, Engineering Degree, or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related fields
• Proven experience building digital twins for industry (required)
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with simulation tools such as:
COMSOL Multiphysics
ANSYS (Fluent, Mechanical, CFX, etc.)
OpenFOAM
MATLAB/Simulink
Modelica
TwinCAT, Unity, Gazebo, or other digital twin frameworks
Any additional CFD/FEM/physics-based modelling tools
• Strong understanding of:
Numerical modelling and solvers
Algorithms and system architecture
Data pipelines for simulation
Industrial processes and system behaviour
• Curiosity for emerging technologies, including quantum computing (not required, but a plus)
Location and Language Requirements
· Candidates must reside in France.
· Candidates must be able to speak and write both French and English.
· Visa sponsorship cannot be provided at this stage.
